Local Young Farmers support Balloons and raise £389

A big thank you to Newton St Cyres and District YFC who raised £389.50 for Balloons at their Cider and Pasty Quiz earlier in the year. Office Manager Jo was delighted to attend their Annual Harvest Supper last night to receive the cheque.

Well done to these committed and generous Young Farmers for all their fundraising activities throughout the year which have also benefited Farms for City Children @Devonairambulancetrust and Crediton Food Bank.

£10,000 received from the Postcode Community Trust to fund Pre bereavement work

Balloons have received £10,000 from the Postcode Community Trust towards our vital pre-bereavement support work with children & young people in Exeter, Mid & East Devon.

Tally Ho! fundraiser on 15th September

Exeter local pub The Tally Ho! Inn hosted their second family bike ride fundraiser for Balloons on Saturday 15th September which was a huge success and raised over £1,000 for Balloons charity.  There were many cyclists of all ages taking part and Balloons had a stand in The Tally Ho! beer garden with information about the charity, colouring activities for children and a lucky dip.  Thanks so much to the staff of The Tally Ho! for all their support.

Two successful days of Standup Paddleboarding

On 15th and 16th August Balloons team member Jo Overton-Pitts led two days of stand-up paddleboarding for bereaved young people supported by Balloons charity.  A total of 17 participants who have previously had one-to-one support work from our charity took to the water for a fun-filled day of games and activities.  Thanks to Balloons team member Liz, and to volunteer Grief Support Workers Helen and Steven for helping out.  A huge thanks to the instructors at Haven Banks Outdoor Education ...

The Exeter ‘Longest Day Cycle Challenge’

The Exeter did an absolutely amazing job fundraising for Balloons during their Longest Day Cycle Challenge and raised over £1,700 for the charity.  The local insurance company also organised a 2-day walk across Dartmoor several days later which raised further funds for the bereaved children and young people we support.  We’ve been so impressed by the commitment of The Exeter staff to fundraising for Balloons.

Balloons Activity Day – July 2018

Two NCS ‘social action’ projects partner with Balloons Charity

Volunteer Week 2018
