The Tally Ho! Inn, Exeter raises over £1,200 for Tall Ships activity day

We’re so grateful to The Tally Ho! Inn who have worked hard fundraising for Balloons (Devon) over the past month.  Their charity cycle ride and BBQ event managed to raised £1,258 in total which the owners Debs and Ed have asked be allocated to our next Tall Ships activity day for bereaved teenagers supported by Balloons.  We’re immensely grateful for all their support and that we will be able to run the Tall Ships activity day again with The Island ...

Balloons supported by St David’s Players performances of ‘Gondoliers’

Thank you to everyone involved with The St David’s Players and The Barnfield Theatre, Exeter for making us so welcome at all their performances of ‘Gondoliers’ throughout the week beginning Tuesday 10th October.  Staff and volunteers attended each performance that week to make collections for Balloons (Devon) and sell raffle tickets.  We very much enjoyed attending and are delighted that the collections and raffles raised just over £700 with further funds expected from the sale of tickets from their charity ...

Naomi J Ryan & Kinderkare Family Fun Day

On Thursday 14th April staff from Naomi J Ryan estate agents and Kinderkare nursery held a family fun day for Balloons in Princesshay.  The day, which featured face painting, Easter craft activities, a lucky dip and Build-a-Bear raffle was great fun and we were lucky with the sunshine. Balloons & CBBC’s Blue Peter at Haven Banks

Fret-me-not Dolls

Thank you to Julia at Peggies Peg Dolls for supplying us with a new stock of fret-me-not dolls.  These hand-painted wooden dolls are a great resource as a worry doll for children who are struggling with anxiety or sleep problems after a bereavement   We’re looking forward to sharing them with bereaved children we support as they have gone down really well with the children we’ve given them to so far.

Salvation Army – Exeter Temple

Balloons would like to say a huge thank you to The Salvation Army who raised an incredible £1,629.23 for Balloons during a collection at their service on Sunday 18th December.  Sara Bennett, Balloons CEO attended the service and spoke about the work that Balloons does in the local community.  The charity really appreciates their generosity and will put the money to good use supporting local bereaved children and young people.

Devon & Cornwall Chief Constables Charity

Balloons were chosen earlier this year as one of the Devon & Cornwall Chief Constables Charities.  Balloons CEO, Sara Bennett met with Alison Hernandez (Police & Crime Commissioner), Shaun Sawyer (Chief Constable), other members of Devon & Cornwall Constabulary and other chosen charities at Middlemoor for a cheque presentation.  Balloons received a cheque for £875.
