Volunteer Week 2018

Here at Balloons we rely on volunteers to carry out vital bereavement support for children, young people and young adults.  Volunteers are the backbone of our charity and we simply could not do it without them.  That’s why during Volunteer Week 2018, from 1st – 7th June, we’ll be sharing how we use our volunteers and the difference they make to those they support.  We’re delighted to have over 50 volunteer Grief Support Workers at present and they’re all amazing!

Twilight training session available – Supporting Bereaved Children & Young People

Following the success our Twilight training sessions for professionals around bereavement and loss we are pleased to confirm the next available date:

Wednesday 6th June, 5-8pm – A theoretical and practical introduction to supporting bereaved children and young people.  Cost £50 per person.

Church Service for Bereaved Parents and Families

Laura raised over £1,000 running for Balloons

We’d like to say an enormous thank you to Laura who raised £1,019 for our charity by taking part in the Surrey Half Marathon on 11th March 2018.  Laura raised the majority of the money via her Just Giving fundraising page and her employer chipped in with a further £200.  £1,000 could fund the replacement and renewal of books and resources for 2018, or it could pay for the training of two Grief Support Workers, or it could pay for ...
