Mt Kilimanjaro challenge

Balloons Adventure Days

On Saturday 25th October Balloons are hosting our first ever Adventure Day for children and young people who have benefited from the Balloons service.  The day is a FREE SESSION open to all children aged 8 years and over who have received support from Balloons and will take place at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre at Exeter Quay.  This Adventure Day will include Raft Building, Climbing, Abseiling and Artificial Caving and will offer children and young people who Balloons have worked with ...

Balloons Service extended to include 18-25s

Balloons are pleased to announced that we are now in a position to be able to receive referrals for 18-24 year olds before an expected death, or following the death, of someone significant in their lives.  Grief Support Workers wishing to work with young adults will receive additional training to support this age group in October 2014 in order to extend our bereavement services.

Tiverton Balloon Festival

On 11-13 July 2014 volunteers from the Balloons Charity joined hundreds of visitors at the Tiverton Balloon Festival.  Balloons had a stand at the festival and thanks to our Volunteers and Trustees we were able to stay for the whole weekend to share with local people the work that Balloons do in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.  Special thanks to Clare & Peter, Charles & Frances, Amanda & Nathan, Julia & Nick, Leanne and Jo for making the weekend such a success.  ...

Crediton Crunch 2014

Crunch startOn Sunday 18th May 2014 the Crediton Crunch in aid of Balloons saw 250 entrants complete the 10k run around some usually inaccessible parts of Crediton. The run which raised £2,500 for Balloons last year was a great success and the weather was kind enough to stay dry for the competitors. Exeter to Bordeaux Cycle Ride

Our newest trustee, Steve Bulmer, will be embarking upon a gruelling 600 mile cycle ride from Exeter to Bordeaux on 4th April in aid of Balloons.  Steve is being joined by Dan Fleming, Nick Kirby, James Osbent and Chris Sayer. The boys’ fundraising efforts will be taken up a gear with the match-funding that Basepoint Exeter have pledged.

Exeter Cathedral School Charity Concert

On Thursday 13th March, Drummond Johnstone and Jo Overton-Pitts attended a Charity Concert organised by Exeter Cathedral School, in aid of Balloons.

The evening boasted a wide range of music; from John Lennon to Handel, from jazz to traditional Ghanaian drumming. It was a demonstration of the exceptional talent of the musicians and choir of Exeter Cathedral School – but also of the generosity in choosing Balloons as their charity for their 26th annual charity concert.
