For those who are not aware of it, the Crediton Crunch is a multi-terrain, 10k run which is organised every year by the Crediton Running Network and sponsored by Ernest Jackson. Bereavement Memory Day at Hilltop Riding Stables

Exeter Cathedral School Charity Concert

On Thursday 13th March, Drummond Johnstone and Jo Overton-Pitts attended a Charity Concert organised by Exeter Cathedral School, in aid of Balloons.

The evening boasted a wide range of music; from John Lennon to Handel, from jazz to traditional Ghanaian drumming. It was a demonstration of the exceptional talent of the musicians and choir of Exeter Cathedral School – but also of the generosity in choosing Balloons as their charity for their 26th annual charity concert.

This is third craft fayre that Balloons have held at the home of Trustee Clare Selley in Bow, and we now have quite a following. We hold a joint event with Save the Children because the friend who helps Clare organise the day (and who iced all 21 of the Xmas cakes that Clare’s mum made!!) chairs the local Save the Children branch. This offered Balloons an unprecedented opportunity to reach a national audience and as a consequence Balloons have been inundated with requests from people wishing to become volunteers, wishing to show their support and of course by donations.

Balloons Christmas Party

On Saturday 14th December young people, parents, staff and volunteers met at Cardinal Newman House Exeter for the Balloons Christmas party. The children enjoyed the chance to make wood Christmas trees and tree decorations, as well as jewellery making and card making.

There was also a chance for everyone to sit down together and enjoy a wonderful Christmas buffet and some fantastic chocolate brownies.
