Our Youth Forum is for young people aged 13 – 17, who have experienced bereavement. The young people themselves are ‘in charge’ of the activities on offer and have come up with some great activities in the past, including:
A day with the Animation Therapy Team, putting together their own animation film using models, drawings and themselves. Young people, parents, staff and volunteers joined Helen Mason, Director of the company, to create a very professional film.
Running their own radio show! Four young people from the Balloons Youth Forum were invited by John Stammers and Emily McCarthy of Phonic FM to work in the studio and run the show. Phonic FM is a Community Radio Station based in Exeter. Sasha, Oliver, Amy and Gareth did an amazing job and the programme was enjoyed by many people living in Exeter, Mid and East Devon. They discussed Balloons, music, school, Dr Who and much more! The show was excellent. Emily from Phonic FM said, “John and I had a really good time with Sasha, Olli, Amy and Gareth. Thank you all very much; it was a really good fun and enjoyable show. We look forward to the next one!”
Our thanks to our amazing fundraisers for making our Youth Forum activities possible, especially Pete’s Dragons and Rebecca Layman.
Please contact us if you have any ideas regarding what our Youth Forum should do next.
